About The Position

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. This 47-bed community-based Emergency Room services approximately 80,000 to 85,000 patients per year with a wide variety of complaints and illnesses. The Emergency Department is known for its efficient, collaborative, and patient-centric care, with a consistent focus on improving patient and staff satisfaction. The role requires a compassionate, organized, and calm individual with good critical thinking and communication skills, working in a collaborative environment with strong interdisciplinary teams focused on patient-centered care in a diverse workspace. The registered nurse utilizes evidence-based practices, the nursing process, and standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family, under the direction of the Nurse Manager.

Requirements

Current Connecticut RN license required.
BSN preferred.
Experience in Emergency Medicine preferred.
New graduates to work under supervision per State guidelines.
Ability to manage and organize multiple clinical priorities.
Ability to delegate to achieve patient outcomes.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff.
Uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.
