About The Position

The emergency department at Ludington Hospital features sixteen state-of-the-art treatment areas, including two trauma rooms. They provide prompt assessment, resuscitation, intensive care, and stabilization of injured patients and emergency procedures. The hospital has developed transfer agreements, including emergency helicopter transport services, for patients requiring more comprehensive care at a Level I or Level II trauma center. Ludington Hospital also features “FastER Track” emergency department care for patients with minor illnesses and injuries. For over a century, Ludington Hospital has provided comprehensive health care services for Mason and Oceana County residents and the thousands of tourists who visit each year, utilizing experienced, compassionate doctors and health teams, advanced technology, and programs that improve well-being. The role involves delivering nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. This includes demonstrating competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation). The RN is expected to uphold the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, which includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health, all while striving to achieve optimal outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associates in Nursing Required
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
  • ENA Emergency Nurses Association (ENPC) within 1 year
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year
