About The Position

Our newest location - Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Midlothian, a part of Texas Health Hospital Mansfield, features a 24/7 Emergency Department with 12 treatment rooms, including two dedicated trauma rooms, EMS receiving capabilities, experienced emergency nursing staff, an in-house laboratory, physical therapy and advanced radiology services featuring bariatric-capable imaging technology. This facility will bring advanced emergency and outpatient services to one of the fastest-growing communities in North Texas in Midlothian. The 25,000-square-foot first floor will open with comprehensive clinical services, while the second floor is planned for future expansion, including physician office space. Requirements

  • Skills required to work in the emergency department as defined by unit
  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes
  • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs
  • Demonstrated proficiency in acute-care nursing, knowledge, and skills
  • Able to navigate and manage multiple priorities
  • Uses independent discretion/decision-making
  • Able to make decisions under pressure
  • Manages anger/fear/hostility
  • Manages stress appropriately
  • Works alone effectively
  • Able to work effectively in close proximity to others and/or in a distracting environment

  • Internship and/or preceptorship dependent upon nursing experience
  • Unit-specific competencies met per orientation pathway
  • The majority of employees will require a minimum of 12 months after orientation completed to achieve proficiency
  • Associate's of Nursing
  • 1+ 12 lead ekg experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate patients' physical, mental, and emotional health.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and patient needs.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care by facilitating collaboration among healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists.
  • Monitor patient progress, regularly review, and adjust care plans based on patient responses and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure everyone is informed and involved in the care process.
  • Document patient information accurately, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes in the patient's medical record.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely, ensuring adherence to protocols and patient safety.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of nursing and support staff, ensuring adherence to care standards and evaluating performance.
  • Evaluate discharge planning needs and coordinate patients' discharge requirements to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home or another care facility.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Address and resolve issues related to patient care, staffing, and resource allocation, implementing solutions to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
