About The Position

This is a contract RN position in a very busy Emergency Department serving 350–440 patients per day, with up to 120 treatment areas. Travelers will not be placed in trauma rooms while on assignment at the facility. The role requires flexibility with floating to adjacent areas, including the Psych ED and Pedi ED (caring for patients age 15 in Pedi unless the candidate has previous Pedi experience). Candidates who reside less than 50 miles from the facility will be placed at a local rate.

Requirements

  • MA Licensed RN (required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) — must be active/unexpired
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) — must be active/unexpired
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) — must be active/unexpired
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) — must be active/unexpired
  • Government-issued identification with mailing address (required)

  • Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and pass a Telemetry Test on Day 1 with a minimum score of 85%
  • Minimum of 1.5 years of recent Level I or II ED experience, and/or 2 years of recent Level 3/4 ED experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in a high-volume Adult Emergency Department
  • Float to areas including Psych ED and Pedi ED as required (caring for age 15 patients in Pedi ED unless previous Pedi experience is held)
  • Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks
  • Pass a Telemetry Test on Day 1 (minimum score: 85%)
  • Manage a patient ratio of 1:4–5 patients depending on acuity
