About The Position

The Beaumont Emergency Center in Livonia offers high-quality, comprehensive emergency care, located in the neighborhood and not physically connected to a hospital. It is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and licensed nursing staff. Close integration and collaboration with Beaumont’s hospitals enables efficient transitions to an inpatient setting if needed. The RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process to provide professional nursing care, incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and discharges patients, providing quality care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures. The RN recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes, and partners with patients/families to incorporate their input and goals into the plan of care. The RN also develops teaching strategies for patients/families and documents education and learning appropriately in the health record.

Requirements

  • Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years for GN or RN with less than one (1) year experience
  • Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer.
  • ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer
  • External candidates are required to have a minimum of 2 years of related acute care experience.
  • External candidates must successfully complete a competency assessment provided by nursing education required.
  • Internal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience must be approved by their current Nurse Manager and the site CNO.
  • These candidates are to remain a unit-based PRN (casual) employee until they reach 2 years of nursing experience.
