About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. The Electrophysiology Lab at Martin North Hospital specializes in the treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders and offers various procedures, including pacemaker/ICD implantation, ablation of cardiac arrhythmias and more. As an RN on this team, you will interact with the patient before, during, and shortly after their procedure to ease their mind, advocate for them and provide education. You will also be responsible for loading the patient into the Operating Room to begin the procedure and documenting, circulating, scrubbing in or stimming during the case. This role will offer you the opportunity to work in a procedural setting without additional expectations. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days from 6:30AM – 5:00PM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment based on the department service level
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
