About The Position

HIA Health is looking for a dedicated and responsible Registered Nurse (RN) that can assist in education and training within hospice and homecare settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive innovation in training, participate in growing our current hospice service area, and make meaningful impact to those we serve. The ideal candidate should have experience in hospice and/or home health. This position will assist in providing quality training and education to our hospice nursing team members. Some travel will be required to the designated service areas. This role will serve as a mentor and/or preceptor for clinical RN team members. This role will conduct clinical assessments, provide training, assist in care planning, and complete documentation to provide quality care to patients meting all standards of care. Position is full-time, benefit eligible, and will be based in our Fargo service area.

Requirements

  • Degree in nursing, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of nursing experience with experience in education, precepting, or training a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, research, develop, and recommend changes and improvements, anticipate obstacles and challenges, collaborate on planning, processes, goals, and outcomes.
  • Experience in working with all levels of staff, and has excellent communication, organization, prioritization skills, and attention to detail.
  • Current state RN License in North Dakota and Minnesota (or willing to obtain dual licensure upon hire)
  • Current driver's license and auto insurance

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate educational program to ensure clinical orientation and training opportunities meet the requirements of Patient Care Services (PCS).
  • Leads efforts to coordinate, create, revise, implement, and instruct in clinical training to promote high quality care.
  • Recruits, trains, and evaluates internal staff trainers for nursing education/training.
  • Presents community education programs including CEUs programs.
  • Provides clinical leadership/staffing across shifts to ensure quality care is provided to patients.
  • Serves as a resource in delivery of care during off shift as scheduled.
  • Identifies training needs of professional and clinical staff and develops/assists in the development of educational programs as needed.
  • Participates in healthcare/educational task force committees/projects in community/state.
  • Develops or coordinates effective clinical pre-/post-tests, proficiency exams, and competencies.
  • Participates in new employee orientation and coordinates additional clinical staff orientation trainings when warranted.
  • Serves as preceptor and mentor to staff members.
  • Conducts the clinical assessment, planning and documentation to provide quality hospice care to patients meeting all standards of care.
  • Monitors and evaluates instructional materials, instructional resources to ensure adequate instructional supplies are available.
  • Works with quality and compliance departments to ensure or coordinate clinical education programming complies with state and national licensure and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in an annual review of current policies and procedures related to the delivery of clinical care to ensure appropriate clinical education is incorporated into policies and procedures.
