The RN Educator is a nurse who, through clinical experience, study, and supervised practice in patient care, has gained expertise in a specific specialty area of patient care services. This position is for VIR Nursing. The RN Educator demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in peri-procedural nursing care, conscious sedation, PACU nursing, and critical care. They are responsible and accountable for the development and application of specialty practice standards, staff development, regulatory compliance, and research to enhance the quality of care. The RN Educator is essential to the management of complex patient and systems-related issues. They create a collegial and collaborative environment, demonstrate effective leadership, teaching, research, and communication skills, and utilize problem-solving and decision-making skills. They coach and mentor staff, and research and develop specialty-specific practice standards. The role requires the ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, as well as improve job performance through continuing education.
