About The Position

The RN-Educator Perioperative Services position focuses on the education of current staff and the orientation of new staff within the Perioperative Services department. This role is part of the leadership team and involves auditing responsibilities. The position requires demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in the specialty area, along with effective leadership, teaching, research, and communication skills. The employee is expected to create a collegial and collaborative environment, demonstrate responsibility and accountability, utilize problem-solving and decision-making skills, and coach and mentor staff. Additionally, the role involves researching and developing specialty-specific practice standards and communicating them to other staff.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Current New York State Registered Nurse registration and certification or eligible for licensure in New York State
• Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in specialty area
• Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
