About The Position
The Big Rapids Emergency Department is a community-based hospital within the Corewell Healthcare System, serving as a certified Primary Stroke Center and Level IV Trauma Center. It features 20 patient treatment areas for a wide range of medical and traumatic emergencies. The interdisciplinary team focuses on relationship-based care, handling over 27,000 visits annually and achieving high rankings in patient experience and throughput. The department values teamwork, culture, and continuous process improvement. Requirements
- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
- Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AHA required 6 months
- Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) AHA American Heart Association required 6 months
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) ENA Emergency Nurses Association required within 1 Year
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) ENA Emergency Nurses Association required within 1 Year
Responsibilities
- Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
- Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
