About The Position

The UH Lake West ED is a Level 3 Trauma Center consisting of 20 beds on the main side of the ED for acute patients. It also has 5 super track rooms for lower acuity patients to maintain patient flow. The unit is stroke and chest pain certified.

Requirements

Diploma in Nursing or (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)
Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
Master in Nursing (Preferred)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.

Responsibilities

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process to assist them in attaining, maintaining, regaining, and sustaining optimal health status.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
