About The Position

Our 62-bed Behavioral Health Unit is seeking compassionate mental health clinicians to care for patients with psychiatric illnesses. Our recovery-oriented program provides opportunities for professional growth in a collaborative care environment. This unit includes an Adult Psych Unit (ages 18-64), a Geriatric Psych Unit (ages 65 and older) which requires assistance with all aspects of daily living, an Intensive Outpatient Program, and ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy). We also offer a New Graduate Program for RN’s passionate about Behavioral Health.

Requirements

Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required
No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required
RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. Required
BCLS - Basic Life Support Required

Nice To Haves

Previous ECT experience is highly preferred
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)

Responsibilities

Performs patient assessments to include collection of data regarding the patient’s physical, psychosocial and health history.
Appropriately evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments and patient/family education.
Organizes patient data into the formulation of a plan of care; identifies additional information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs. Identifies expected patient outcomes.
Carries out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
Provides patient care that is specific to the setting, identified needs and plan; ensures that the care provided is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment or disability.
Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.
Identifies teaching opportunities and provides the resources necessary for achieving the educational goals of the patients.
Communications issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager and/or physician as appropriate.
Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.
Collects pertinent data and information relative to the healthcare consumer’s health or the situation.
Analyzes the assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation.
