About The Position

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, provides acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services at its facility in Northwest Reno. The RN Director-Behavioral Health directs, manages, and coordinates the inpatient and outpatient Senior Bridges Geriatric Psychiatric programs, ensuring that appropriate patient care is delivered in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. The role oversees and manages social services, intake, quality, and marketing to referral sources, physicians, and the community. The Director has 24/7 operational responsibility for the department. The programs provide care for older adults through inpatient and outpatient geriatric psychiatric services. The organization describes residential mental health treatment as involving structured care, education, medication management, and family, individual, and group therapies.

Requirements

Master’s degree in social work, nursing, or equivalent.
Experience in a psychiatric setting.
At least two years in a progressive supervisory and administrative role.

Responsibilities

Participate in the design of clinical programs across the continuum of care.
Work effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the efficacy of treatment.
Serve as an administrative resource for hospital business development and market the program on a consistent schedule.
Evaluate the quality of care, productivity, and cost-effectiveness of systems; seek direction and support to implement appropriate modifications.
Direct, manage, and coordinate the inpatient and outpatient Senior Bridges Geriatric Psychiatric programs.
Oversee and manage social services, intake, quality, and program marketing to referral sources, physicians, and the community.
Maintain 24/7 operational responsibility for the department.
