About The Position
The RN DI Navigator provides patient care for imaging patients in the Diagnostic Imaging clinical environment, including patient assessment and medication administration under the supervision of a radiologist or other qualified licensed practitioner. The role is also responsible for the navigation, tracking, and communication of patient imaging follow-up recommendations, including coordination of the Lung Cancer Screening Program.
Requirements
- ADN (Required)
- BLS or CPR certification (within 90 days of hire) - Sarah Bush Lincoln
- RN-Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
Responsibilities
- Administer medications as prescribed.
- Assist and guide imaging technologists in providing patient care as needed.
- Educate patients, families and providers about lung cancer screening process, risks, and benefits.
- Manage all aspects of the CT Lung Screening database and the follow-up manager database. including inputting patient screening information, and distribution of patient letters.
- Manage medical emergencies and adverse reactions under the guidance of a radiologist, physician or other licensed practitioner.
- Manages and communicates with referring physicians and patients regarding recommended follow-up imaging exams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prepare program statistics.
- Responsible and accountable for all elements of nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.
- Schedule appointments and diagnostic studies as required.
- Support providers, patients, and families through the screening and follow-up programs.
