About The Position
Our Day Surgery unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. We foster an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The patient population includes General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neuro, Gynecology, ENT, Oncology, Pain management, Interventional Radiology, and Gastroenterology patients, covering PreOp and Phase II care. The unit utilizes a team nursing approach for pre-operative patients and offers the ability to cross-train in PACU and the GI lab, emphasizing a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
- Prior Day Surgery/Pre-Op, PACU or Procedural experience required.
- A degree from a recognized nursing program.
- A valid Registered Nurse license.
- Ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neuro, Gynecology, ENT, Oncology, Pain management, Interventional Radiology, and Gastroenterology patients.
- Care for patients in PreOp and Phase II.
- Utilize a team nursing approach to pre-operative patients.
- Cross-train in PACU and GI lab.
