About The Position

This role involves providing quality nursing care services within the Operating Room, specifically focusing on Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) procedures. The nurse will be responsible for understanding and applying aseptic techniques, maintaining a sterile field, assisting in procedures, and preparing patients for surgery. Key duties include assessing patients before surgery, ensuring patient understanding of procedures, and participating in the pre-procedure "timeout" with the perioperative team. The position emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and serving as a resource to the Surgical Services team, while promoting a positive image of nursing.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Associated Degree of Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).
• Current BLS and ACLS Certification.
• 1-year of clinical CVOR experience is preferred; must be proficient in Operating Room, OR, Surgery, Surgical Services, Cardiovascular in an acute care setting.
• Must be 30-min commutable to the facility.

Nice To Haves

• BSN is preferred.
• CNOR is preferred.
• Will consider a seasoned OR Nurse (1+ years of exp) and will cross train them to CVOR.
