Requirements

  • Nursing School Graduate
  • Current California RN license.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certification (may be substituted) or defibrillation certification, MAB, ERT and ENPC
  • Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.
  • Proficiency in both written and oral English

Nice To Haves

  • One year acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and Hospital policies and procedures.
  • The Registered Nurse will provide care that includes timely triage, physical assessment, treatment, reassessment, discharge planning, and health education to the Emergency Department patient.
  • The RN is responsible for planning and coordination of care across the continuum.
  • This planning and coordination includes meeting and exceeding compliance with core measures, contributes to reduction in LOS, active participation with all aspects of quality, safety and performance improvement activities, collaboration with all the members of the multidisciplinary team in providing outstanding customer service to patients, family members, physicians and the public.
  • Meets and exceeds the Department of Health Service (DHS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory requirements.
  • The ED Registered Nurse will support the ED initiative and provide quality patient care.
