About The Position

Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is seeking an RN Critical Care Step Down. This facility is a Magnet®-designated hospital known for exceptional nursing and advanced medical, surgical, emergency, obstetric, and critical care services. The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center is a leading-edge, hybrid surgical unit, and the Cotton Family Birth Center has received the Baby Friendly® designation. The Critical Care Step Down unit is a 39-bed unit committed to providing high-quality, patient and family-centered care for patients with various medical conditions including pulmonary, cardiac, and neurological disorders, as well as post-operative care for surgical patients requiring a higher level of nursing care. The unit also cares for ventilated tracheostomy patients. All unit staff receives hospital and nursing orientation, along with unit-specific orientation and core competencies. The team consists of RNs and NAs, emphasizing teamwork for a cohesive nursing unit.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate degree or higher.
  • RN must enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within the next five (5) years.
  • Graduates from non-accredited school of nursing programs must have at least one year of acute care experience or greater than 2 years of experience in a licensed health care role, such as an LPN or EMT role, etc., and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Critical Care, Emergency Care, Pre-Op and PACU, Radiology 180 Days required

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma, A.D.N., B.S.N., M.S.N., DNP/PhD – if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to sign an educational contract upon hire to complete BSN within specified timeframe and adhere to contract stipulations.
