About The Position

Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital, a Magnet®-designated facility recognized by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking an RN for its 39-bed Critical Care Step Down unit. This unit provides high-quality, patient- and family-centered care for diverse medical conditions including pulmonary, cardiac, and neurological disorders, as well as post-operative care for surgical patients requiring a higher level of nursing support. The unit also cares for ventilated tracheostomy patients. All staff receive comprehensive hospital and unit-specific orientation, including core competencies. The team comprises RNs and NAs, emphasizing teamwork for a cohesive unit.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate degree or higher.
• RN license in the State of Michigan upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from American Heart Association for Critical Care, Emergency Care, Pre-Op and PACU, Radiology within 180 days.
• If not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to sign an educational contract upon hire to complete BSN within specified timeframe and adhere to contract stipulations.
• RN must enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within the next five (5) years (effective April 18, 2023).
• Graduates from non-accredited school of nursing programs must have at least one year of acute care experience or greater than 2 years of experience in a licensed health care role, such as an LPN or EMT role, etc., and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
