The H50 nursing unit for Colorectal Surgery is part of Cleveland Clinic’s Digestive Disease Institute, which has been ranked second in the nation. Working with 16 colorectal surgeons, our dedicated and highly engaged nursing staff is focused on providing world-class medical and surgical care to patients with medical problems such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer and genetic bowel disease. A caregiver in this position works day/night rotations from 7:00am to 7:30pm or 7:00pm to 7:30am.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (must be presented upon hire)
  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification (must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
