About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership and oversight to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care. This role coordinates staffing, patient flow, and resource utilization while supporting productivity and financial goals. The Clinical Supervisor collaborates with physicians, leaders, and coworkers to improve processes, maintain appropriate staffing levels, and promote positive patient outcomes. As a servant leader, the Clinical Supervisor mentors and supports staff, drives change initiatives, recognizes team achievements, and fosters professional growth. They hold team members accountable for performance, policy compliance, and regulatory standards while actively participating in employee evaluations with the Clinical Manager. All responsibilities are performed in alignment with Mercy's Mission, Values, and Service Standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license in the applicable state of practice.
  • 3–5 years of hospital nursing experience.
  • Current BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification or ability to obtain within probationary period.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Leadership or charge nurse experience.
  • Relevant specialty certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee daily nursing care for NICU patients.
  • Lead and support nursing staff while promoting teamwork and accountability.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for coworkers.
  • Collaborate with physicians, leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
  • Assist with staffing coordination and operational needs.
  • Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Address patient, family, and staff concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Support a culture of engagement, shared governance, and Nursing Excellence.
  • Participate in employee evaluations with the Clinical Manager.
