About The Position

Canyon Ridge Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate and talented Registered Nurse (Outpatient) to join our team. At Canyon Ridge Hospital we understand that not all wounds are visible. Canyon Ridge is a 157-bed acute, locked psychiatric facility offering services to adolescents ages 13-17, adults and older adults. We believe in an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment. For some, anxiety or drug dependence looks different from others with the same diagnoses, and in some cases, behavioral health and substance use disorders occur simultaneously. In these cases of dual diagnosis, we treat the patients in the best way possible given their specific needs. The Outpatient RN is responsible for delivery of quality general and psychiatric nursing care to adults, and geriatrics with emotional or psychiatric disorders; serve actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, supporting the organization and program philosophy of care; to ensure the safety and well-being of each patient.

Requirements

  • Current RN license issued by the State of California
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, particularly terms associated with psychiatric and behavioral health care
  • Foundational knowledge of abnormal psychology as related to the psychiatric patient population and applies this knowledge effectively in nursing care
  • Working knowledge of treatment procedures and interventions, including care for acute psychotic conditions and non-violent crisis intervention practices

  • Safely performs and oversees medication administration (medication pass) in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintains a record of consistently high-quality clinical judgment and interpersonal skills, serving as an exemplary role model to peers and staff.
