About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse leader to serve as Clinical Manager for our Outpatient Cardiology team. This role provides clinical, operational, and people leadership across a growing outpatient cardiology program. The Clinical Manager will partner closely with physician leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, efficient, and family-centered care across clinic settings.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio (or ability to obtain)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of nursing experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced outpatient or ambulatory setting
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Experience with quality improvement, process improvement, and performance metrics
  • 3+ years of work experience in Nursing
  • Active RN License in Ohio

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • pediatric and/or cardiology experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of outpatient cardiology clinics to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care delivery
  • Monitor patient flow, staffing models, and clinic performance metrics to optimize access and throughput
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and support evidence-based practice
  • Directly manage, coach, and develop a team of outpatient cardiology RNs and clinical staff
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition on recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development planning
  • Support expansion of outpatient cardiology services, including new clinic sites and subspecialty programs
  • Collaborate with Heart Institute leadership on strategic planning and program initiatives
  • Assist in developing workflows and care models to support evolving patient and program needs
  • Champion a patient- and family-centered care approach
  • Address patient concerns and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Ensure consistent delivery of compassionate, high-quality care
  • Provide programmatic leadership of the clinical component in their assigned areas to ensure quality patient care outcomes.
  • Develop and implement goals, standards, policies, educational programs, procedures and practices in alignment with the strategic plan.
  • Monitor situations that affect daily operations and take appropriate actions.
  • Participate in the development, coaching, and evaluation of department personnel.
  • Mentor and provide learning and development opportunities for direct reports.
  • Establish workforce communication and approaches that will represent our Core Values and cultural competence.
  • Ensure staff competence through appropriate training and practice oversight.
  • Demonstrate consistent integration of the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) in all aspects of practice.

  • Demonstrate skill with interpersonal communication along with presentations, written materials and through group facilitation.

  • Consistently assure quality and adherence to standards by utilizing auditing and quality assurance approaches.
  • Follow the guidance of their Directors in the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Partner with department leaders of Center for Professional Excellence (CPE) and Accreditation Services to improve staff performance, compliance and documentation.
  • Assure all reporting staff have required competence, education and their clinical performance represents standards of compliance.
  • Enhance relationships to promote interdisciplinary involvement and knowledge of compliance standards, status, and actions.
  • Facilitate the knowledge and actions of employees with appropriate policies and standards of performance.
  • Serve as a point of contact and resource for the daily operations.
  • Research and resolve operational questions and problems as they arise.
  • Serve as a resource to staff in the resolution of complex issues and concerns.
  • Provide oversight and guidance in the day to day patient staffing.
  • Evaluate and adjust resource allocation based on patient needs and system factors.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for orientation of new employees.
  • Assure integration of annual operational goals into daily practice.
  • Address problem trends, develop, plan and implement solutions to improve processes and work flow for both individuals and systems for which teams work.
  • Provide oversight and evaluation of clinical practices, patient outcomes and all practices associated with safety and quality patient care.
  • Be competent to support patient care delivery for their area as needed.
  • Provide leadership for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of specific projects.
  • Assure alignment of developing projects with organizational priorities and strategic plan.
  • Develop project plans, resource allocation, and timelines.
  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • May direct assigned project team ensuring effective utilization of resources.
  • Report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
  • Provide detailed organizational communication plans when clinical operations are impacted.
  • Integrate principles of inclusion throughout projects and daily operations.
  • Engage with the day-to-day operations that impact productivity.
  • Conduct analysis, partner with others in decisions around resource allocation and recognize the impact of decisions on productivity.
  • In collaboration with director; develop, implement and evaluate the department's annual operating and capital budget to achieve the organizational and departmental objectives.
  • Analyze and monitor financial performance and assist in the reporting of financial results.
  • Evaluate variances, determine underlying causes, and establish proposed solutions.
  • Provide clinical practice leadership for the operation of specified patient services departments dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.
  • Provide direct support and oversight of clinical practice, coordination of patient care delivery, coaching and development of staff, and manage the work environment.
