This role manages nursing staff and nursing activities for an assigned department, including patient/resident care, record-keeping, budgeting, and personnel issues. The manager assigns patients/residents to available nursing staff, considering the patient's/resident's condition and the employee's skill level. The position involves scheduling nursing staff, measuring employee performance, assisting in training and development, managing workflow volumes, applying continuous improvement processes, monitoring patient care areas for cleanliness, and providing direct nursing care as needed. Opportunities exist to assist and manage special projects, championing enterprise scope and initiatives. The role directs nurse and other staff activities for patients/residents receiving home health and/or hospice services, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency. Responsibilities include delegating tasks, providing direction on nursing practice and regulations, contributing to planning and budgeting, and coordinating inter-disciplinary communication and collaboration. The manager also works with communities and serves as an internal liaison to outside agencies.
