About The Position

This position oversees and manages the nursing care for the agency or department, facilitating quality patient care through effective staffing levels and resources to meet patient care needs. The Clinical Manager supervises and delegates staff to ensure optimum patient care. They are responsible for daily operations in the absence of the DON and/or agency manager and directs the operation of the facility efficiently, effectively, and in a professional manner. This role maintains a safe patient care environment by complying with RHS policies/procedures/regulatory requirements that support National Safety Patient Goals and Quality Initiatives. The Clinical Manager recognizes and reports variances and provides resolutions, investigates nursing errors, complaints concerning nursing care, patient/visitor incidents, and counsels personnel as appropriate. They document all incidents in a timely and accurate manner. The Clinical Manager builds trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs, actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings, and develops, trains, and educates staff on policies, procedures, best practices, and strategic goals. They recognize and respond to variances of patient care/condition and appropriately notifies the physician and team, problem-solves issues with the physician and/or team, and documents appropriate complaints/PI issues with timely follow-up. The Clinical Manager performs supervisory visits with assigned staff, provides assistance in planning nursing care, problem-solving, interpreting nursing policies, and patient assignments. They closely supervise personnel and render direct nursing care as appropriate, adjust and monitor staffing levels as needed to provide adequate nursing care based on census and/or patient needs, and manage overtime while working within staffing allocations budget. The Clinical Manager assesses staffing/patient care needs and makes sound decisions when adjusting based on staffing needs, and communicates and documents appropriate changes in staffing/patient care, sick callouts, etc. This role may perform in an RN role by assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The Clinical Manager may work in a variety of settings and roles within the Riverside Home Care Division, utilizing communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making to oversee patient care throughout the Agency based on physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age-related needs of specific patient populations served by the Agency. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and Division goals and strategic plans.

Requirements

Associates Degree, Nursing (Required)
Nursing experience (Required)
Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (Required)
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
Drives personal vehicle for RHS business 25% or more of the time to perform essential functions of the job
Valid Drivers License Required

Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
Develops, trains, and educates staff on policies, procedures, best practices, and strategic goals.
Recognizes and responds to variances of patient care/ condition and appropriately notifies physician and team.
In a collaborative manner, problem solves issues with physician and/or team.
Documents appropriate complaints/PI issues and provides timely follow-up, as appropriate.
Performs supervisory visits with assigned staff and provides assistance in planning nursing care, problem solving, interpreting nursing policies and patient assignments.
Closely supervises personnel and renders direct nursing care as appropriate.
Adjusts and monitors staffing levels as needed to provide adequate nursing care as directed by the census and/or patient’s individual needs.
Manages overtime and works within staffing allocations budget.
Assesses staffing/patient care needs and makes good decisions when adjusting based on staffing needs.
Communicates and documents appropriate changes in staffing/patient care, sick callouts, etc.
