The RN Clinical Lead provides work direction to clinical and support staff, coordinating resources for efficient operations and patient flow within the Emergency Department. This role supports direct patient care by performing the nursing process, ensuring safe and quality care through assessment, care planning, and outcome evaluation. The Clinical Lead promotes an environment conducive to safe and efficient patient care, potentially through daily patient rounding. They coordinate team needs, handle patient care team issues, and foster communication among patients, families, departments, and medical staff. Additionally, the role serves as a resource for employees, including training, orienting, providing work direction, and contributing to performance evaluations. They monitor employee assignments, evaluate staffing levels for productivity, and oversee the quality of care provided. This position assists in ensuring compliance with medical center, nursing department, and regulatory policies. The Clinical Lead also contributes to budget development, ensures adequate supplies and equipment for safe patient care and work environment, and collaborates with management on program development. They work with vendors, coordinate equipment in-services, and participate in product trials, submitting recommendations. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles, and assessing/interpreting patient status based on age-specific needs.
