The RN Clinical Lead - OB provides work direction to clinical and support staff, coordinating resources for efficient operations, patient flow, and procedure support. This role also involves direct patient care, applying the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic, and quality care. The lead promotes an environment conducive to safe and efficient patient care, including patient rounding. They coordinate team needs, handle service complaints, and foster communication among patients, families, departments, and medical staff. As a resource to employees, the lead provides training, orientation, day-to-day direction, and performance input. They assign, monitor, and review work, guiding complex issues in collaboration with unit leadership. The role assists with human resource functions like interviewing, selection, and resolving employee concerns. They monitor employee assignments, evaluate staffing levels for productivity, and oversee the quality of care provided. This position ensures compliance with medical center, nursing department, and regulatory policies. They provide input to the budget, ensure adequate supplies and equipment for safe patient care and work environment, and collaborate with management on new programs and services. They also work with vendors, coordinate in-services, and participate in product trials, submitting recommendations. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development across the lifespan, and assessing/interpreting patient data based on age-specific needs.
