About The Position

The Clinical Informatics Coordinator (CIC) is responsible for the facilitation and leadership of facility Clinical Informatics by leading the implementation of and providing ongoing support for corporate/division/facility projects related to clinical informatics, including: standardization utilization integration optimization The CIC is the critical facility resource responsible for supporting the implementation of and providing ongoing support for corporate/division/facility-wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization activities related to the electronic health record and other clinically related technologies. They are responsible for the coordination, support, and completion of project assessments, project advancements, workflow mapping, tools, and resources focused on Clinical Informatics initiatives, including but not limited to provider order entry and documentation, standard clinical documentation, promoting interoperability, and other technology that supports clinician workflow. The CIC will participate in the company-wide community of Informatics by working with the Director of Clinical Informatics and facility peers to ensure clinical applications are well supported.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Understand pertinent regulatory guidelines such as the Joint Commission, HIPAA, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong relationships across a broad range of personality types.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing with clinical and information technology personnel.
  • Demonstrated customer orientation.
  • Excellent leadership and teaching abilities.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • An understanding, enthusiasm, and commitment to the goals of the project.
  • Leadership skills to direct others and maintain a common vision for project objectives.
  • Must be a motivator.
  • The ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the practice, as well as with vendors and other outside agents.
  • Must have an interdisciplinary focus.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to delegate tasks and enlist the cooperation and/or assistance of team members and others.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree
  • Nurse or Health Informatics Certification is encouraged
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Cerner experience is strongly preferred.
