About The Position

This role is open to individuals who are already authorized to work indefinitely in the United States. Current and/or future sponsorship for work authorization is not available. The incumbent will offer support to staff at both OSF Medical Group in Bloomington, OSF St. James-JW Albrecht in Pontiac. Will require occasional travel to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Informatics Specialist maintains cooperative working relationships with information technology team members, trainers, leaders within the operating unit, and front line team members for project issues. The position will have primary oversite and responsibility for preparing the facility with EMR upgrades along with other closely related projects. Responsible for the planning, development, training, implementation, optimization, evaluation, and maintenance of assigned clinical information systems across the system. Functions as a liaison for ongoing support and additional clinical informatics systems as needed. Responsible for developing and managing detailed project work plans and facilitating teams through solution implementation. Identifies critical integration issues with other projects/processes and coordinates the improvements with division management to accomplish project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, education, nursing, informatics or other related fields
  • 2 years of experience working with an electronic medical record in a healthcare setting
  • Must attain and retain Epic credentialing to teach within 6 months of employment
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to provide effective leadership and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Analytical skills necessary in order to develop detailed project plans, identify risks and issues, and to understand data.
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts both orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business administration, education, nursing, informatics or other related fields
  • Previous experience teaching in a classroom setting.
  • Previous experience in project management
