We are currently seeking a Clinical Support Analyst II responsible for supporting the clinical operations of the Banner Health Ambulatory and Acute services team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing informatics expertise and resources for the ambulatory specialty and acute care facilities (BDMC, BOMC, BCGMC and BBHH). As a resource, the ideal candidate provides ongoing clinical user support for various clinical teams and committees. This role will support the organization’s vision and direction for computer systems, integration of devices, process design, data management, and related processes. The Clinical Support Analyst serves as a liaison between the ambulatory and acute area clinical staff and the central education team, Nursing Informatics, and Clinical Applications Solution IT teams to communicate user needs and facilitate system optimization. As optimization of the electronic health record continues to move forward, clinician support and a mechanism for end-user education and feedback will help ensure success. The typical schedule for this role is onsite Monday-Friday 8a-5p, although varied hours may be needed based on the project requirements. The primary location for this role will be at various ambulatory clinics and acute facilities in the East Valley of the Phoenix metro area. POSITION SUMMARY This position will serve as the subject matter expert for complex clinical workflows as they relate to systems and processes. They will apply nursing standards as they collaborate with IT teams and user groups to develop and deploy best practices. Incorporate critical thinking and knowledge of clinical decision making into the support of software and IT processes. Assist with the clinical consensus group development and implementation of current and future state workflows. Works closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop best practices based their broad understand across clinical venues and user groups. Collaborate to increase efficiencies and promote continuity of care through technology and workflow improvements.

Requirements

  • Incumbents must possess knowledge and experience equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field or related business discipline; and have an active RN license for a clinical position in a practicing state.
  • Must have three to five years experience working within a complex and diverse health care setting.
  • Must be proficient in the use of system office applications.
  • Must possess a basic understanding of integrated clinical systems.
  • Must have highly developed interpersonal and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize needs rapidly.
  • This position requires the ability to convey messages and thoughts clearly to a diverse audience, using both verbal and written mediums.
  • Requires the ability to promote change among large groups of workers.
  • Requires the ability to coordinate information and activities, work under stress of deadlines and frequent interruptions, and to possess analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Requires the maintenance of familiarity with clinical care processes and information technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; Certification in Nursing Informatics preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Applies nursing standards to perform outcome coordinator functions.
  • Performs Educator functions.
  • Performs Consultant and Project Coordinator functions.
  • Performs Advocate functions to ensure technology solutions support patient care standards and outcomes.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in the field of healthcare IT as well as new developments of electronic health record and associated technologies.
  • This position must interact with and support all levels of end users throughout the facility or specialty area, including technicians, nurses, therapists, and physicians.
