The RN Clinical Educator - Urgent Care is responsible for teaching and demonstrating proficiency in patient physical assessment skills, patient care, and nursing skills. This role reinforces policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines with nursing staff, and coordinates nursing-centered rounds and bedside reporting. The educator provides service line specific unit educational programs in collaboration with preceptors and Nursing Practice Development Specialists (NPDS) in various settings, monitors compliance, and ensures the quality of professional services through continuous learning and professional growth. They communicate effectively, role-modeling departmental expectations, and collaborate with leadership to design, implement, and evaluate the nursing unit’s orientation and annual needs assessment education plan. Additionally, the educator creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment, supports age/developmentally appropriate patient care, and teaches interpretation of and develops strategies to address nurse-sensitive indicators and performance improvement.
