About The Position

St. Anthony North Hospital, a Magnet® designated facility, is seeking an RN Clinical Coordinator for its 5 West Medical Surgical Department. This 30-bed unit cares for a diverse patient population including medical-surgical, cardiac, and neurological patients. Common diagnoses include chronic disease exacerbations, acute conditions, and pre- and post-operative care. The unit is dynamic and receives overflow patients, offering opportunities to broaden skillsets. The mission is to deliver excellent, patient-centered care through teamwork and compassion. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, operates safely in a fast-paced environment, and maintains a positive attitude. The role involves demonstrating strong clinical judgment, ensuring high-quality care, acting as a liaison between physicians and the patient care team, authorizing work procedures, assigning duties, managing as shift charge, and taking patient assignments based on unit needs and acuity, all while promoting patient well-being and adhering to professional standards.

Requirements

Registered Nurse with exceptional clinical skills.

Associates Degree in Nursing or by endorsement.
One (1) year of clinical RN experience.
RN license to practice in state of employment as applicable.

Responsibilities

Coordinate clinical and department activities for the unit.
Serve as a vital clinical resource and professional role model.
Demonstrate strong clinical judgment.
Ensure high-quality care delivery.
Act as a crucial link between physicians and the patient care team.
Authorize work procedures.
Assign duties.
Manage as shift charge.
Actively take patient assignments based on unit needs and acuity.
Promote patient well-being and adhere to professional standards.
Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
Evaluate patient’s response and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcome.
Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Provide leadership, support, and coordination of unit’s daily operations during designated shift.
Assist in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met.
Ensure appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care.
Serve as a liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team.
