The RN will promote and restore patient's health as they prescribe, provide, delegate, evaluate and coordinate comprehensive professional nursing care through the use of the nursing process for patients of all ages, gender, cultures, and background; provide physical and psycho-social support to patients, friends and families.

Requirements

  • Current RN license recognized by the State of Iowa Board of Nursing
  • Knowledge of nursing care in accordance with regulations and practices established by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
  • Successful demonstration of competence in Basic Life Support (Health Care Provider).
  • Successful completion of Clinical Services general nursing and unit specific orientation.
  • Consistently demonstrates a team approach to care.
  • Demonstrates effective communication strategies.
  • Familiarity with the use of a computer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general nursing care and leadership.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and multi-disciplinary team members in maintaining standards for professional nurse practice in a clinic setting.
  • Prescribe, provide, delegate, evaluate and coordinate comprehensive professional nursing care through the use of the nursing process for patients of all ages, gender, cultures, and background.
  • Provide physical and psycho-social support to patients, friends and families.
  • Demonstrate and support service excellence according to BMC Employees Expectation of Excellence 100% of the time.
  • Consistently meet Clinic Nurse Manager/Supervisor request, committee responsibilities and performance improvement data collection as outlined by supervisor 95% of the time.
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and competence by completing and documenting all competencies, clinic specific skills, HealthStream, annual in-services, corporate compliance 95% of the defined time.
  • Consistently meet Personal Performance Summary Standards.
  • Attend unit/staff meetings 75% of the time.
  • Ensure handwriting is legible 100% of the time.
  • Demonstrate compliance with patient confidentiality 100% of the time.
  • Demonstrate competence in specific computer applications.
