About The Position

MUSC Children’s Health After Hours Care Nexton is a pediatric outpatient clinic that falls under the Shawn Jenkin’s Children’s Hospital at MUSC. During the day, we host a variety of pediatric subspecialists such as pediatric pulmonary, GI, endocrinology, ENT, and cardiology only to name a few. In addition to that, we provide a walk-in After Hours Care, which is a direct extension of our pediatric emergency department to serve our community during the hours when most pediatricians are closed. This is a fulltime RN position that will work in the pediatric specialty clinic Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree of Nursing required.
• Minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
• Current South Carolina licensure as a registered nurse or compact state required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process.
• Delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.
• Works in coordination with the nursing leadership.
• Ensures the achievement of optimal evidence-based patient care and department goals through efficient daily operations and compliance with established rules, regulations and guidelines.
• Assists with providing leadership presence and staff support.
