About The Position
This is a full-time, benefited position located at Scripps Anderson Medical Pavilion on the Scripps Memorial Campus in La Jolla. The Diabetes/Endocrinology team is known for its collaborative and supportive atmosphere, committed to compassionate patient care. As the Clinical RN for Diabetes and Endocrinology, your duties will include direct patient care (approximately 40%) for injection and CGM placements and education, and phone and in-basket management (approximately 60%). You will perform patient assessments, care tasks, medication administration, assist with glucose monitoring education, educate patients, document interactions, and practice infection control, contributing to quality patient care within your scope of practice.
Requirements
- CA RN license
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- ADN or Nursing Diploma
Nice To Haves
- One year outpatient RN experience
- Diabetes education
- 1-2 years RN experience
Responsibilities
- Direct patient care - daily nurse visits for injection and CGM placements and education
- Phones and in-basket management
- Performing patient assessments, care tasks, and medication administration as appropriate
- Assisting glucose monitoring education for diabetic patients
- Educate patients and document patient interactions while practicing infection control
- Contributing to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care within your own scope of practice
