About The Position

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital is seeking a dedicated RN Circulator to join their Lubbock Heart team. This physician-owned hospital specializes in cardiac, orthopedic, nephrology, urology, and general medical patients, with a focus on surgical procedures. They pride themselves on providing excellent patient care and fostering a family-like atmosphere for patients, families, physicians, and employees. The hospital features a 24-hour Emergency Department, operating rooms, cardiac catheterization labs, day surgery rooms, acute care beds, and cardiac critical care rooms.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure as a nurse in the state of Texas.
  • BCLS and ACLS required.
  • 2 years Critical Care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the physician in managing diagnostic and interventional procedures and providing continuity of care.
  • Observe and document physiologic monitoring data and initiate appropriate action.
  • Address the psychosocial needs of the patient and family.
  • Accurately and efficiently document patient data and charges on the patient record.
  • Safely and appropriately administer medication and IV solutions while demonstrating accountability for tracking narcotics.
  • Checks patient chart for pertinent data and performs patient assessment.
  • Adhere to protocol designed to reduce radiation exposure.
  • Maintain the availability of inventory and medications based on anticipated needs; checks expiration dates and package integrity.
  • Identify and utilize the opportunity for professional growth and employee development.
  • Assure and assist with safe patient transport to other departments as needed.
  • Assist in the assessment of the department's efficiency by participating in quality improvement process.
  • Review chart for accurate charges and procedures.
  • Perform data entry for statistical analysis and file in the appropriate binder.
  • Patient implant device data entry.
  • Perform weekly narcotic audit per protocol.
  • On call duties including notifying on-call staff, adhering to protocol for response time, patient transport, and procedure setup, and notifying the physician.
