About The Position

Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Surgery Department at the Ontario location. This role provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations within the surgical environment. The RN will address psychosocial and physical aspects of care, communicate with surgical and anesthesia staff regarding patient condition, and assist with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Responsibilities include assessing operating room equipment readiness, obtaining necessary supplies, and ensuring the surgical team's needs are met. The role also involves monitoring, positioning, and assisting the patient during procedures.

Requirements

Minimum of one year of work experience in an operating room.
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
Current BLS & ACLS certifications.
Current PALS certification.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of two – three years of work experience in the operating room.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations.
Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
Communicates with surgeon and anesthesia staff continuously and as needed about patient condition.
Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory.
Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met.
Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure.
