About The Position

The RN - Charge Nurse facilitates, coordinates, and evaluates unit activities to provide quality patient care during the assigned shift. The position is responsible to the Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager and serves as a mentor to staff. The Charge Nurse acts as a role model by providing direction in applying the nursing process, quality improvement standards, and organizational and department goals and objectives in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Additional duties within the scope of the role may be assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of 1 year of staff nurse experience required.
• Active RN licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, or TNCC may be required depending on the assigned area.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment and foster a cooperative work environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Computer skills, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
• Ability to manage time and schedules effectively.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities
