About The Position

Discover all the possibilities of a career at Northside. This position involves a combination of direct patient care (approximately 80%), charge nurse duties (20%), and preceptor duties (20%). The exact balance between charge and preceptor roles may shift based on patient acuity and volume. The role serves a unit-specific patient population, providing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include setting priorities based on the situation, managing the unit during an eight (8) to twelve (12) hour shift, and educating new employees.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  • Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree.
  • Two (2) years recent experience in current clinical specialty (i.e., critical care, surgical services, diabetes education, radiology, etc.).
  • Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
  • Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily activities and distribution of work in the area during the scheduled shift.
  • Acts as a professional educator and resource for new employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence.
  • Provides direct patient care.
  • Manages the unit during the shift.
  • Sets priorities based on the situation at hand.
  • Provides care and/or services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
