About The Position
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a Floor Nurse with Charge Nurse responsibilities for the 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM shift and will include a shift every other weekend. The nurse is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care for our veteran residents. SBVCC provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in Virginia.
Nice To Haves
- Nursing experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatment accurately for assigned residents.
- Consult with physicians; receives, records and implements orders and schedules appointments.
- Document residents’ health changes via acute care nurse’s notes and shift change nursing reports.
- Formulate plans of care for new residents and prepares all required reports and documentation.
- Conduct daily rounds; observing and evaluating the physical and emotional status of assigned residents and taking necessary actions to ensure their health and well-being.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for nursing care; consulting with Nursing Supervisor/Unit Manager as needed.
