About The Position

This position is for a Care Team Leader (CTL), Charge RN on the Pulmonary and Medical Intermediate Care (IMC) Unit at UW Health's University Hospital in Madison, WI. The unit is part of a Magnet-designated organization, recognized for nursing excellence and quality patient care. The role involves leading and motivating nursing staff, collaborating with the interprofessional team, mentoring staff, facilitating daily rounds, assessing unit needs, and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin
  • CPR certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient unit. At least two (2) years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient unit.

Nice To Haves

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in an acute care inpatient unit.
  • Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population.
  • National certification in relevant specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and lead nursing staff while working in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
  • Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
  • Facilitate and participate in daily interprofessional rounds.
  • Continuously assess unit needs by ensuring adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts.
  • Analyze and resolve problems that fall outside the domain of the nurse clinician and collaborate with other departments and care providers.
