About The Position
The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care for assigned patients by the use and implementation of the Nursing Process of assessment, derivation of the nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation and re-evaluation of the care by using a holistic approach. The staff nurse is also responsible for preparing the patient and significant other for obtaining and maintaining an optimal level of health, in preparation for their discharge. The Staff Nurse is also responsible for the direct supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse and the Nursing Assistant, when applicable. The staff nurse is a contributing member to the multi-disciplinary Health Care Team and must be able to communicate the needs of the patient/significant others to all disciplines involved in the patient's hospitalization.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing program.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA).
- BLS certified.
- Continuous self-professional development through seminars and maintaining CEUs.
- Notify supervisor if additional education is needed for assigned duties.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- Additional certifications dependent on assigned care.
Responsibilities
