About The Position

Observes, evaluates, and coordinates the care given to patients in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Participates in direct and indirect care of all related activities according to the policies, procedures, philosophy and mission of the organization.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
  • Registered Nurse experience with critical care experience or medical-surgical or experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab/Special Procedure department: Preferred
  • Advanced Electrocardiogram (EKG) certification: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
  • Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues.
  • Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.
  • Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes.
  • Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation.
  • Connect electrocardiogram (EKG) leads and alerts doctor of any changes in patient condition.
  • Records analyzes hemodynamic parameters and calculates shunt and valves and other data.
  • Monitors patient, analyzes electrocardiogram (EKG) and hemodynamic parameter and reports to physician any changes in patient's condition.
  • Operates computerized system with accuracy and evaluates and reports significant data and findings throughout all procedures for all patients of various age groups.
  • Operates other specialized equipment that applies to facility as needed.
  • Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.
  • Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members.
  • Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
