About The Position

The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) works as a team member performing simple and complex diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional invasive cardiovascular and angiographic procedures. Applies discretion and independent judgment to the provision of age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient care and seeks assistance as necessary. Participates in the development of standards of care, patient and family education and staff education to address the needs of this specialized patient population. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands cardiovascular and interventional knowledge base and clinical skills. Meets qualifications, licensure and certifications, and competencies as defined in the unit and departmental-specific Plan for Providing Care. Participates in educational activities, departmental committees, approved research projects and other health-related projects as assigned. Provides direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources; appraises quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and communicates to responsible individuals. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school required.
  • Recent appropriate nursing practice (within past four years) or completion of approved refresher course.
  • Minimum two years experience working in a Cath or Angio Lab performing Diagnostic and Interventional simple and complex procedures required.
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association required.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with over 2 years of critical care experience may be considered in lieu of Cath Lab experience.
  • Spanish preferred.
