About The Position

Vail Health has become the world’s most advanced mountain healthcare system, consisting of an updated 520,000-square-foot, 56-bed hospital located centrally in Vail, providing exceptional care with beautiful views. As a Cath Lab RN, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional cardiovascular care across diagnostic and interventional procedures. This involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while functioning confidently in a dynamic, high-risk environment. The role requires working independently with limited supervision, collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to best practices through education, quality initiatives, and mentorship.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Cath Lab RN experience
  • Active RN license in Colorado or a valid compact state
  • BLS (required)
  • ACLS (required)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum)
  • Working knowledge of invasive cardiovascular technology

Responsibilities

  • Works within a team environment with individuals having similar abilities and responsibilities.
  • Handles emergency situations during high-risk procedures with calm professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills and ability to teach patients while providing a calming effect with patients and families.
  • Functions in the role of scrub, circulator or monitor technician on a rotating basis. Completes all functions of each role with regard to patient safety and adherence to infection control practices.
  • Participates in “on-call” responsibilities and responds when required within 30 minutes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and competence in basic invasive cardiovascular technology.
  • Prepares and operates sophisticated radiographic equipment including x-ray table, camera, video recorders, ultrasound machine and pressure injectors safely.
  • Assists with quality assurance or performance projects as directed.
  • Assists with determining educational needs of the staff. Communicates with the Manager and assists in the development and training of fellow staff members.
  • Models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
