About The Position

The Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting, supporting individuals and families across the continuum of care. This role utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, administer medications and treatments, perform clinical procedures, and provide patient education and care coordination in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary teams. The Ambulatory RN ensures accurate documentation, adherence to infection control and regulatory standards, and efficient clinic operations while promoting quality outcomes, patient safety, and culturally responsive care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or another U.S. state.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Strong case management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Implement and evaluate nursing interventions and patient responses.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders and policy.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions or escalation of care.
  • Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs.
  • Deliver culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
  • Advocate for patient care and assist patients in navigating the healthcare system.
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and support the education of staff, students, and peers.
