About The Position

This position involves providing case management services as an RN. The role requires working every 6th weekend and only 2-3 holidays per year, with no weekly on-call requirement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the hospice philosophy, principles of death and dying, pain and symptom management, and adult teaching/learning principles.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
Currently licensed as an RN through the Ohio Board of Nursing.
Must be able to obtain a license in the state of Michigan.
Working experience charting in an EMR system.
Possesses clinical expertise related to critical thinking, assessment, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working condition and is insured in accordance with state and agency requirements.
Meets state requirements for maintaining professional license.
Must be CPR certified according to the American Heart Association CPR standards.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
Previous experience in homecare, and/or hospice experience is preferred.
Netsmart system preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide case management services as an RN.
Work every 6th weekend.
Work 2-3 holidays per year.
Provide basic and skilled nursing care.
Set priorities of care.
Appropriately assess limits of intervention.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members regarding care issues.
Work independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
Maintain professional license.
Maintain CPR certification.
