About The Position

Provides direct patient care in a cardiac ICU, which may include transplant patients, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and the organization's policies, values, and mission. The role requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, minimal supervision, and the ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. The position is based in Hollywood, Florida, and is a full-time night-shift role in the Adult CVICU. The posting advertises a $20,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nursing program.
Current Registered Nurse license for the State of Florida.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required for ICU roles.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
One year of cardiovascular or intensive care experience is required.
Critical-thinking and effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

Evaluate the learning needs of patients and/or families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Effectively delegate patient care to ancillary personnel.
May precept student nurses and new hires.
Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
Monitor, document, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Collaborate across disciplines as needed to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
