About The Position

This Full Time Registered Nurse position works in the Cath Lab at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center and includes call. The department is willing to train an experienced ICU or Tele RN looking to learn or expand skills. The Cardiac Catheterization Department consists of 2 rooms, including a new “Million Dollar Renovation” in 2022 for patient prep and post-procedure recovery. The team works with high-risk, high-acuity patients and focuses on superb outcomes, fostering a close-knit group dedicated to positive cardiac patient outcomes. The role involves providing quality care to patients before, during, and after cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, PCI procedures, Impella or IABP protected "Left Main" PCI, CTO, lithotripsy therapy, rotational atherectomy, and laser technology. As a STEMI Receiving Center and a Chest Pain Accredited Program, the RN will care for emergent STEMI patients. Additionally, the department performs PFO closures, thrombectomies, and utilizes new technology for pulmonary embolism extraction. The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient-centered care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role coordinates and provides high-quality care based on clinical protocols and physician/provider orders, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes in a supportive and compassionate environment. Western Arizona Regional Medical Center is a 139-bed acute care facility serving the greater Bullhead City community with inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic imaging, dialysis, medical, surgical, and emergency services. It houses the area's largest intensive care unit (ICU/PCU), an active OR, and a wound care clinic. The medical center is staffed by over 400 healthcare professionals dedicated to patient, family, and community care. Bullhead City, known as Arizona's west coast along the Colorado River, offers year-round sunny skies and natural beauty. Established in the 1940s, it has become a year-round vacation community with over 300 sunny days annually, ideal for water sports, fishing, and golf. Requirements

0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices.
Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.
Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
BCLS - Basic Life Support required
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required

Starts and maintains an IV line for medication administration (Pre-Procedure).
Administers medications as prescribed by the physician (Pre-Procedure).
Educates patients and families about the procedure and what to expect (Pre-Procedure).
Verifies that surgical consents have been signed (Pre-Procedure).
Assists the Cardiologist during the catheterization process (During the Procedure).
Closely monitors the patient's vital signs, hemodynamic data, and sedation levels (During the Procedure).
Ensures proper functioning of equipment and supplies (During the Procedure).
Manages potential complications and responding to emergencies (During the Procedure).
Continues to monitor the patient's vital signs and overall condition after the procedure (Post-Procedure).
Administers post-procedure medications as needed (Post-Procedure).
Performs other duties as assigned.
