About The Position

Join the exceptional team on Ellison 10, a 36-bed Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit, where you'll care for patients with complex cardiovascular and medical conditions in a fast-paced, highly specialized environment. As a Staff Nurse, you'll provide expert care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, including those with arrhythmias, heart failure, unstable coronary syndromes, and vascular disorders, as well as patients recovering from coronary, peripheral, diagnostic, and interventional procedures. Ellison 10 is recognized as the designated teaching unit for medical residents, offering a collaborative atmosphere that values clinical excellence, professional growth, and interdisciplinary teamwork. Nurses benefit from a supportive care delivery model, 12-hour shifts, self-scheduling flexibility, and opportunities to expand their experience by working on the similar cardiac stepdown unit, Ellison 11, when staffing needs arise. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
  • Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required
  • Registered Nurse RN - MA License
  • Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
  • Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
  • Interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.
